UK judge refuses US extradition of WikiLeaks founder Assange
AP – A British judge on Monday rejected the United States’ request to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to face espionage charges over the publication of secret U.S. documents a decade ago, saying he was likely to kill himself if held under harsh U.S. prison conditions.
In a mixed ruling for Assange and his supporters, District Judge Vanessa Baraitser rejected defense arguments that the 49-year-old Australian faces a politically motivated American prosecution that rides roughshod over free-speech protections. But she said Assange’s precarious mental health would likely deteriorate further under the conditions of “near total isolation” he would face in a U.S. prison.
“I find that the mental condition of Mr. Assange is such that it would be oppressive to extradite him to the United States of America,” the judge said.
Lawyers for the U.S. government said they would appeal the decision, and the U.S. Department of Justice said it would continue to seek Assange’s extradition.
“While we are extremely disappointed in the court’s ultimate decision, we are gratified that the United States prevailed on every point of law raised,” it said in a statement. “In particular, the court rejected all of Mr. Assange’s arguments regarding political motivation, political offense, fair trial and freedom of speech.”
Assange’s lawyers said they would ask for his release from a London prison where he has been held for more than a 18 months at a bail hearing on Wednesday.

Britain inoculates first patient with Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine
AP – Britain on Monday took another giant step in the fight against COVID-19, ramping up its immunization program by giving the first shots in the world from the vaccine created by Oxford University and pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca.
Dialysis patient Brian Pinker, 82, was the first to get the new vaccine shot, administered by the chief nurse at Oxford University Hospital. Pinker said he was so pleased and that he can “now really look forward to celebrating my 48th wedding anniversary with my wife Shirley later this year.”
Since Dec. 8, Britain’s National Health Service has been using a vaccine made by Pfizer and the German firm BioNTech to inoculate health care workers and nursing home residents and staff. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine boosts that arsenal and is cheaper and easier to use since it does not require the super-cold storage needed by the Pfizer vaccine.
The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was being administered at a small number of U.K. hospitals for the first few days so authorities can watch out for any adverse reactions. But hundreds of new vaccination sites – at both hospitals as well as local doctors’ offices – will launch this week, joining the more than 700 already in operation, NHS England said.
In a shift from practices in the U.S. and elsewhere, Britain now plans to give people second doses of both vaccines within 12 weeks of the first shot rather than within 21 days, to accelerate immunizations across as many people as quickly as possible.
The government’s deputy chief medical officer, Jonathan Van-Tam, said Sunday that decision is “the right thing to do for the nation as a whole.”
China blasts US for ‘unreasonable suppression of foreign companies’ after Washington blacklists three Chinese firms
RT – Beijing has hit out at Washington over its “unwarranted suppression” of foreign companies after the US ordered the delisting of three Chinese firms from the New York Stock Exchange.
Speaking on Monday during a regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told reporters that Beijing firmly opposes “the US’ politicization of economic and trade issues” and its “abuse of national power.”
“The relevant actions of the United States have seriously violated the market competition principles and international economic and trade rules that the United States has always advertised,” Hua said.
She also accused “political forces” in the US of continuing to “unreasonably suppress foreign companies” listed there, and called such actions “very unwise.”
Hua contended that Washington’s actions would damage America’s own national interests and erode its position as a global leader in capital markets. She also said Beijing was prepared to take the necessary action to protect the legitimate rights of Chinese businesses, but hoped the US would come to respect the market and the rule of law.
Her remarks come after the New York Stock Exchange issued a statement last Thursday stating that three Chinese companies, China Unicom (Hong Kong), China Mobile and China Telecom, would be delisted as they allegedly have military links.
In December, 58 Chinese firms were blacklisted by the US over their purported ties to China’s military.
Germany to face wave of bankruptcies & soaring unemployment with Berlin poised to extend Covid-19 lockdown – experts
RT – The likely extension of Germany’s national lockdown will reportedly have a major negative impact on the country’s economy, turning 2021 into a year of economic frustration.
With Covid-19 infection rates still running high, German authorities are likely to extend the current national lockdown beyond January 10. Berlin introduced nationwide social restrictions before Christmas, which included the closure of restaurants and most shops.
If the measures remain in force, the country will face a wave of bankruptcies, as well as mounting unemployment, according to experts quoted by Die Welt newspaper.
Iran resumes enriching uranium to 20% purity at Fordo facilit
BBC – Iran has resumed enriching uranium to 20% purity, in its most significant breach yet of the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
The global nuclear watchdog confirmed that the process had begun at the underground Fordo plant on Monday.
Enriched uranium can be used to make reactor fuel but also nuclear bombs. Weapons-grade uranium is 90% purity.
Iran, which insists that its nuclear programme is peaceful, has rolled back a number of commitments under the deal.
It has said it is retaliating for the US economic sanctions that were reinstated in 2018 by President Donald Trump when he abandoned the accord, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran’s decision “can’t be explained in any way except as continued realisation of its intention to develop a military nuclear programme”.
“Israel will not allow Iran to manufacture nuclear weapons,” he added.
European Union spokesman Peter Stano said Iran’s move constituted “a considerable departure from Iran’s nuclear commitments under the JCPOA with serious nuclear non-proliferation implications”.

Situation Update, Jan. 3rd – Senators announce 10-day emergency investigation into election fraud, Pence likely to invoke on the 6th
Natural News – A dozen U.S. Senators have signed on to a demand for an emergency 10-day elections investigation commission that would dive into all the known allegations of election fraud and produce a final report. Speculation is swirling that VP Mike Pence will himself invoke this 10-day investigation on January 6th, refusing to open and read the electoral votes from swing states until this 10-day investigation is complete.
There is historical precedent for exactly this sort of investigation, and Pence has plenary power to invoke this himself, needing no approval from anyone else. Should he do so, it would likely push the inauguration day beyond January 20th, which is perfectly fine with the Twelfth Amendment, which states that the inauguration can be as late as March 4th in cases of a contested election.
The commission would reportedly consist of five members of the House, five from the Senate and five US Supreme Court justices. Unless this group is chosen to include patriots like Sen. Hawley, Sen. Cruz, Justices Thomas and Alito, Rep. Mo Brooks and similar, a group of 5 Representatives + 5 Senators + 5 SCOTUS justices sounds like 15 filthy traitors in a smoke-filled room, ready to betray the republic by burying all the evidence.
So unless this commission is carefully crafted, it’s going to be obvious from the start that it’s all a ruse. And that will set off the pro-America patriots who have had enough of bogus investigations, waiting for Bill Barr to do something useful, or sitting around hoping that deep state swamp creatures might one day face arrest for their crimes against the United States.
‘No stopping them’: James Dobson sounds alarm bell for America
WND – James Dobson, the founder of the James Dobson Family Institute and the host of the “Family Talk” radio program, several times has expressed concern over a Joe Biden presidency.
He described Biden’s declared support of transgender surgery for children as “lunacy.” And he warned that the “promises made” by the Biden camp “should disturb every conservative Christian.”
For example, Biden “has told us emphatically that he will bring an open season on the unborn child.”
He will force Americans to fund abortions, implement abortion on demand nationwide without any limits, force Americans to fund Planned Parenthood, the biggest abortion provider, and force Christians such as the Little Sisters of the Poor to fund abortions in their health insurance plans, he said.
He said, directly, “Biden’s regime will also usher in other forms of moral depravity.”
Now, in his January newsletter, the Christian leader who has advised multiple presidents, has written 71 books, and has radio broadcasts on more than 1,300 outlets, has another stark warning.
America is about to lose “government of the people, by the people and for the people.”
But, he warned, “Our government appears to be about to abandon this system in the next month. If that occurs, government of the people, by the people, and for the people may well perish from the earth. This moment is that significant! If the awesome power of government can function, dictate, demand, tax, and penalize its citizens without accountability, democracy will have ceased to exist. How is that possible? I believe this is what the far left has in store for us if Democrats win two additional senatorial seats in the upcoming Georgia runoff. Very quickly, that will mean the demolishing of checks and balances—and America’s greatness could be lost.”
He said if one party holds power in the White House, the U.S. House and the Senate, “All that remains to make that power absolute is to gain control of the judiciary. They can do that first by appointing liberal judges who have been nominated by the president. The next step would be to create two new states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, which would give them four more senatorial seats. With that majority they could ‘pack’ the Supreme Court by creating three to five new justices. An independent judiciary, representing the third branch of government, would be within their grasp. The Democrats’ hold on power would then be consolidated.”
But he said that agenda doesn’t even stop there, as there likely would be the death of the filibuster rule in the Senate, which gives the minority certain powers. And then there are those plans to eliminate the Electoral College.
“That would end accountability to the people in smaller states. If that happens, Democrats would have run the table on power. From there, they could eliminate or rewrite the Constitution or pass any legislation they dream up. There would be no stopping them. Checks and balances would be eradicated for the first time since the adoption of the Constitution on September 17, 1787,” he explained.
The result could be California from coast to coast, he said.
He said outrages such as the Equality Act soon would be law, allowing attacks on people of faith, the destruction of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, and children subject to state welfare systems.
Abortion procedures and transgender operations would be required services from doctors, and worse.
“I am most concerned about what will be done to the nation’s children. The LGBTQ ideology, which already predominates in thousands of our nation’s schools, will become even more radicalized. Parents will not be allowed to ‘opt out’ their own flesh and blood, leaving millions of boys and girls to be taught a godless curriculum. Parents, does this worry you? An entire generation of young Americans is at risk as we speak,” he said.
Yet the “worst case” may not come to pass, he said.
“I pray that it won’t. … As Christians know, God is in control. He still cares about this great nation. I believe that repentance for sins and a return to righteousness are our only hope. Remember that ancient Nineveh was under divine judgment, but the people heeded the warnings of Jonah and turned from their wicked ways. The Bible tells us that Nineveh was spared and prospered for another 100 years because of their repentance. It is not too late for America, but the days are short.”
Franklin Graham: If Progressives Rule, ‘We Won’t Even Recognize This Nation’
Breitbart – Celebrated evangelical pastor Franklin Graham warned new “gender-inclusive language” in the House of Representatives threatens the most fundamental human relationships.
Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Jim McGovern (D-MA) announced a set of changes to the House rules “to enshrine what they call gender-inclusive language,” Reverend Graham wrote on Twitter Sunday. “Can you believe that they actually propose to strike the use of words including father, mother, son, aunt, uncle, & wife?”
“These proposed changes will be voted on soon after the House enters the new session,” Rev. Graham continued. “God ‘created them male & female’ (Genesis 1:27). It’s just a fact.”
“If those claiming the name progressive are allowed to have their way, we won’t even recognize this nation in a very short time,” he concluded.
As Breitbart News reported, last Friday Pelosi and McGovern unveiled the “visionary” rules, which contain “future-focused” proposals such as the elimination of gendered terms, such as “father, mother, son, and daughter.”
“This package, which will be introduced and voted on once the new Congress convenes, includes sweeping ethics reforms, increases accountability for the American people, and makes this House of Representatives the most inclusive in history,” said the House Committee on Rules in a statement.
The rules would require Congress to “honor all gender identities by changing pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be gender neutral.”
Representative Tom Cole (R-OK) of the House Rules Committee called the package “a blatant and cowardly assault on the voices and views of the Republican minority,” as well as “a dark day for the preservation of free and thoughtful debate.”
“Alarmingly, the package includes eliminating the longstanding motion to recommit in its current form and censoring opposing ideas,” the congressman said. “Clearly, this proves that Democrats are afraid of Republican ideas, and they cannot effectively defend their own points of view.”
Cole went on to say that such proposals confirm that “Pelosi knows she is unable to rally and effectively lead her own slimmed down caucus.”
“Rather than unify her own members, her solution is to punish and silence Republicans by overturning now-inconvenient precedents and traditions of the House,” he said.
Pelosi reelected House speaker as new Congress is sworn in
CBS – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was reelected to lead the chamber as the 117th Congress convened Sunday, with the California Democrat set to shepherd her party through a new Congress with the slimmest majority in years. Members cast their votes for speaker ahead of their swearing in Sunday evening, with Pelosi earning support from 216 Democrats and clearing the threshold of 214 to secure the House’s top position. The proceedings at the Capitol were marked by the coronavirus pandemic, which led to a changing of procedures to ensure the new Congress could gather safely.
Two Democrats — Jared Golden of Maine and Conor Lamb of Pennsylvania — cast votes for Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries of New York, respectively. Three Democratic House member voted “present.” Notably, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York, and other members of “The Squad” backed Pelosi in her bid for the speakership. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy won 209 votes from Republicans.
Kevin McCarthy Announces Support for Challenge to Electoral College
Breitbart – House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced Sunday his support for efforts to challenge the certification by Congress of the electoral college votes on January 6.
McCarthy’s remarks came during a discussion with the Hill, in which he stated a “debate” on the issue is needed.
“I think it’s right that we have the debate,” McCarthy said. “I mean, you see now that senators are going to object, the House is going to object — how else do we have a way to change the election problems?”
Several other members of Congress have previously announced they will object to the certification of the electoral college votes on January 6, including Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), the first Congressman to announce a challenge to the votes.
Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Steve Daines (R-MT), John Kennedy (R-LA), and Mike Braun (R-IN) joined Hawley on Saturday as they announced in a joint statement with Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) that they would object to the electoral college votes.
The senators and senator elects also stated they would “reject the electors from disputed states” on January 6, adding that the 2020 presidential election featured “unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities.”
At least 140 House Republicans are expected to object to an immediate certification of a Joe Biden victory.
Ex-House Speaker Paul Ryan denounces Republican efforts to challenge electoral votes
CBS -Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan condemned efforts by a group of Republican lawmakers to reject the electoral votes from some states, saying Sunday that it is “difficult to conceive of a more anti-democratic and anti-conservative act.”
“Efforts to reject the votes of the Electoral College and sow doubt about Joe Biden’s victory strike at the foundation of our republican,” Ryan, a former GOP congressman from Wisconsin who retired in 2018, said in a statement. He called the expected action from House and Senate Republicans a “federal intervention to overturn the results of state-certified elections and disenfranchise millions of Americans.”
“The fact that this effort will fail does not mean it will not do significant damage to American democracy,” Ryan added.
Feds raid ‘ghost gun’ maker whose products they say are linked to ‘hundreds of crimes’
CNN – First, there was a home-invasion-style robbery in April 2019 that resulted in a triple homicide.
Three months ago, a pair of sheriff’s deputies were shot while sitting in their patrol car.
And just last month, a 29-year-old man was fatally shot outside his home, allegedly by members of a street gang.
The three seemingly unconnected attacks in Southern California have one thing in common, according to federal authorities: So-called ghost guns recovered by police during their investigations all trace back to the same company in Nevada.
On Thursday, federal agents armed with a search warrant raided the company — Polymer80 — based on suspicion that it was illegally manufacturing and distributing firearms.
The ATF’s investigation is centered on the company’s “Buy Build Shoot” kit which consumers can purchase online, then assemble at home to create a fully functioning weapon, according to a 119-page search warrant affidavit unsealed Thursday in Nevada.
Guns produced from such kits are known as “ghost guns” because they do not contain serial numbers and are considered untraceable. Such guns have drawn the ire of law enforcement officials in recent years as they have been recovered at crime scenes and in police investigations with increasing frequency.
David Borges, the CEO and co-founder of Polymer80, said it was “a big surprise” when agents raided the company’s facility in Dayton, Nevada, Thursday morning. He declined further comment in a brief telephone interview with CNN, noting that agents remained on the property carrying out their search.
Jason Davis, an attorney for Polymer80, said in an emailed statement that the company has a history of cooperating with the ATF and “will continue to do so.” The statement added, in part, that “the company takes its legal obligations seriously” and is also committed to “vigorously protecting its rights under the law.”
No arrests have been made in connection with the search.

Michale Snyder – If we continue destroying the U.S. dollar at our current pace, toilet paper will eventually be more valuable than U.S. dollars. I know that sounds absolutely crazy, but it is true.
Once the COVID pandemic hit the United States, those who control the levers of power in this country decided to go “full Weimar” and they never looked back. As a result, the size of our money supply is rising at a rate that would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago.
We’ve never had a year like that in all of U.S. history. What we are doing is literally insane, but most Americans aren’t even aware of what is happening because the mainstream media isn’t talking about it.
If you are not familiar with “M1”, here is a definition that comes from Investopedia
M1 is the money supply that is composed of physical currency and coin, demand deposits, travelers’ checks, other checkable deposits, and negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) accounts. M1 includes the most liquid portions of the money supply because it contains currency and assets that either are or can be quickly converted to cash. However, “near money” and “near, near money,” which fall under M2 and M3, cannot be converted to currency as quickly.
When new money enters the system, every dollar that you are currently holding becomes less valuable.
And if your paycheck does not rise at the same rate that the money supply is rising, that means that your paycheck becomes less valuable as well.
It is helpful to think of our money system as a pie. When more dollars are added to the pie, your share of the pie steadily becomes smaller.
So who does benefit when the pie is expanded?
The ultra-wealthy do.
It truly is breathtaking. M1 has literally been rising at almost a vertical rate, and it makes all of the inflation that has come before look almost meaningless.
This is why the stock market keeps hitting record high after record high. Stocks started to crash when COVID first started to spread in the United States, and the Federal Reserve decided to do whatever was necessary to rescue the markets. The “unprecedented” response that we witnessed ended up being “a key driver of billionaire wealth” in 2020…
A key driver of billionaire wealth concentration was the unprecedented monetary policy response to stabilize financial markets in the early days of the pandemic, which spurred the stock market’s gravity-defying rise. When Wall Street was on the verge of panic in March, the Federal Reserve intervened with the promise of low rates and an open-ended liquidity spigot.
In addition, Congress just kept passing “stimulus package” after “stimulus package” in a desperate attempt to “rescue” the economy.
But in the process they borrowed and spent trillions of dollars that we did not have, and that also helped to fuel our transition into hyperinflation.
The good news is that hyperinflation is not showing up at the grocery store or at Walmart yet. Eventually it will happen, but so far consumer prices are just rising at a pace that is quite a bit brisker than usual. Where we are seeing hyperinflation is in stock prices, high end real estate in rural and suburban areas, and in other areas of the economy that the ultra-wealthy have been pouring their money into.

Google workers announce plans to unionize
The Verge – A group of Google workers have announced plans to unionize with the Communications Workers of America (CWA). The Alphabet Workers Union will be open to all employees and contractors at Google’s parent company. Its goal will be to tackle ongoing issues like pay disparity, retaliation, and controversial government contracts.
“This union builds upon years of courageous organizing by Google workers,” said Nicki Anselmo, a Google program manager. “From fighting the ‘real names’ policy, to opposing Project Maven, to protesting the egregious, multi-million dollar payouts that have been given to executives who’ve committed sexual harassment, we’ve seen first-hand that Alphabet responds when we act collectively.”
Google’s work on Project Maven, an effort to use AI to improve targeted drone strikes, sparked protests among employees who saw the work as unethical. In 2018, the company decided not to renew its contract with the Pentagon. The company also ended its forced arbitration policy after 20,000 workers staged a walkout to protest former executive Andy Rubin getting a $90 million exit package after he was credibly accused of sexual harassment.
Now that the union effort is public, organizers will likely launch a series of campaigns to rally votes from Google workers. Prior to the announcement, about 230 Google employees and contractors had signed cards in support of the union.
Arranged as a members-only union, the new organization won’t seek collective bargaining rights to negotiate a new contract with the company. Instead, the Alphabet Workers Union will only represent employees who voluntarily join. That structure will also allow it to represent all employees who seek to participate — including temps, vendors, and contractors (known internally as TVCs) who would be excluded by labor law from conventional collective bargaining.

Sonia Acevedo, 41, suffered a ‘sudden death’ at home on New Year’s Day 48 hours after receiving the jab. An autopsy is expected to take place later today or tomorrow.
The mother-of-two, who worked in paediatrics at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology in Porto, is not said to have suffered any adverse side-effects after being vaccinated.
Ms Acevedo’s father Abilio Acevedo told Portuguese daily Correio da Manha: ‘She was okay. She hadn’t had any health problems.
Mask Harms in Kids: 68% of Parents Report Alarming Psychological and Physical Problems In First-of-its-kind Study
Green Med Info – A German study involving over 25,000 children reveals that major negative impacts on the physical, psychological, and behavioral health of children may be far more widespread than reported in the media and by government officials — affecting approximately 68% and contributing to 24 distinct health complaints, according to parent submitted observations.
A concerning study conducted in Germany has been posted online as a preprint (not yet peer-reviewed) titled, “Corona children studies “Co-Ki”: First results of a Germany-wide registry on mouth and nose covering (mask) in children,” describing the results of 17,854 parent submitted reports on health complaints or impairments experienced as a result of wearing masks by their 25,930 children.
The study was designed to both explore the accumulating narratives reported by parents, educators, and doctors about increasing problems and health complaints in children and adolescents wearinng masks, as well as to provide the first known online registry where parents, doctors, teachers, and others can enter their first-hand observations. The registry and the questionnaire can be found online at www.co-ki-masken.de
The study authors stated:
“There are no manufacturer-independent studies on the use of masks for children and adolescents that are certified as medical products for occupational safety in professional applications. In addition, due to the unknown materials used, there are no findings on the potential protective effects or side effects of the often home-made “everyday masks” worn by the majority of children. In view of the ongoing measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, and in particular the varying obligations for children and adolescents to wear masks in school over a longer period of time, there is an urgent need for research.”
On October 20th, 2020, 363 doctors were asked to make entries and inform parents and teachers of the existence of the registry.
The data recorded in the registry included information regarding the role of the registrant, demographic data, previous illnesses, situation and duration of mask wearing, type of mask, existence of complaints from the child about an impairment via the mask, symptoms, behavioral problems, and the respondent’s personal attitude to corona protection measures of the government.
On average, children wore masks for 270 minutes a day, with impairments being reported at nearly the same rate by the children (67.7%) as the parents (66.1%).
The study results were summarized as follows:
“By 26.10.2020 the registry had been used by 20,353 people. In this publication we report the results from the parents, who entered data on a total of 25,930 children. The average wearing time of the mask was 270 minutes per day. Impairments caused by wearing the mask were reported by 68% of the parents. These included irritability (60%), headache (53%), difficulty concentrating (50%), less happiness (49%), reluctance to go to school/kindergarten (44%), malaise (42%) impaired learning (38%) and drowsiness or fatigue (37%).”

A spoonful of honey for cough is one of the easiest and best home remedies for cough.
In a study comparing the use of honey, dextromorphin and no treatment for coughing children, “parents rated honey most favorably for symptomatic relief of their child’s nocturnal cough and sleep difficulty due to upper respiratory tract infection.”
Add cinnamon, and you get an extra dose of antibacterial and anti-viral herbal goodness. Note: The CDC recommends that raw honey not be used for children under 2 years of age due to botulism concerns.
To make a homemade cough syrup with honey and cinnamon, pour about ½ cup of honey into a small container ( I used an 8 ounce mason jar) and mix in about ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon.
For children over two and adults, treat a cough with a spoonful of honey or honey and cinnamon as needed. Both cinnamon and honey are anti-bacterial and anti-viral, and the honey coats and soothes the throat.
