Dr. David Magnano, DC will join this morning to discuss the benefits of intermittent fasting
Since the beginning of recorded history, fasting has been used as a tool for healing and physical renewal.
Researchers have recently discovered that intermittent fasting — eating only within a certain daily time window and fasting outside of that window — is a powerful tool capable of producing the same benefits as extended fasting including accelerated fat burning and weight loss, mitigation of degenerative disease, and lifespan extension.
These quick, fast-mimicking diets lower caloric intake sufficiently to trick the body into thinking a full fast is occurring, triggering all the benefits of fasting which include an increase in the metabolic rate and production of growth hormones, and the acceleration of important cellular repair processes such as removing waste material from cells. These short bursts of reduced caloric intake are less stressful on the body than typical long-duration fasting and have been proven to be medically safe, says Dr. David Magnano.
